Privacy policy

Neurons Away LLC (“Neurons Away,” “we,” “us”) runs neuronsaway.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site or buy from us, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email neuronsaway@gmail.com.

The short version

• We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don’t sell or rent your personal information.
• Our visit counter is cookie-free and never stores your IP address.
• Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• You can ask us to see, correct, or delete your information at any time.

Information we collect

When you buy a PDF

Checkout is processed by Stripe. Stripe collects your email, payment details, and billing information under its own privacy policy. Stripe shares back with us your email address, what you bought, the amount paid, any discount used, and an order ID. We use this to deliver your download, provide receipts and support, and keep business and tax records.

When you contact us or sign up

If you send a message, request a quote, or join our email list, we receive what you enter, such as your name, email, organization, and message. We use it only to reply, fulfil your request, or send the updates you asked for. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email us to be removed.

When you browse

We run our own simple, first-party analytics so we know which pages and books people find useful. For each visit we record the page viewed, the referring website’s domain (for example, google.com), the time, and when you click a link to Amazon, Etsy, or Gumroad. To count unique visitors without cookies, we create a one-way, scrambled code from your IP address and browser type that changes every day. Your IP address itself is never stored, and the code can’t be used to recognize you on a different day.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Cookies and local storage

Visitors get no cookies from us. Your shopping cart is saved in your own browser’s local storage so it’s still there when you come back. It never leaves your device until you check out, and you can clear it anytime by emptying the cart or your browser data. Stripe may set cookies during checkout for fraud prevention. The only cookie on our site is a secure sign-in cookie for the site owner’s admin area.

Other websites and embedded content

Many of our books are sold on Amazon, Etsy, and Gumroad. When you follow those links, that company’s privacy policy applies. Videos on our site are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode, and YouTube may collect data under Google’s privacy policy once you play a video. Meeting bookings use HubSpot’s scheduling page, which has its own policy.

How we share information

We share information only with the service providers that help us run the site and deliver orders, such as Stripe for payments, Cloudflare for hosting, and our email provider. We may also share it when the law requires us to. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we don’t share it for targeted advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we need them for downloads, support, and tax and accounting requirements. We keep messages and email-list details until you ask us to delete them or unsubscribe. Analytics records contain no directly identifying information.

Children’s privacy

Many of our books are made for kids, but this website is meant for parents, educators, and other adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we’ll delete it.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you emails. Depending on where you live, such as California, the EU, or the UK, you may have additional rights under local law. To make a request, email neuronsaway@gmail.com. We’ll respond within 30 days and won’t treat you differently for asking.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, payments go through Stripe, and download links are checked against your order before any file is released. No online service is perfectly secure, but we work to protect the information you share with us.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we’ll post the new version here and change the effective date above.
