Meet the founder

Sally Safadi

After graduating from SUNY ESF with a degree in Biology, Sally Safadi merged her fascination with human behavior and her admiration for imagination to create Neurons Away. Sally works with hospitals, schools, and organizations to integrate new ways of thinking and creativity into everyday lifestyles and choices.

Her journey began with a deep desire to encourage people to think more openly and flexibly. Reflecting on traditional education, Sally noticed that school often promotes one-directional learning — right and wrong answers, and little room for self-expression. Combined with the consumer-driven focus of modern life, that left little space for creativity.

She’s a fan of warm weather, stargazing, acroyoga, mixed martial arts — and thinking.

How it started

From one workbook to a movement for flexible minds.

We firmly believe that humans are meant to create, not just consume. With that vision, we started our first workbook, Fill in the Space — a collection of mind-expanding questions that invited people to think outside the box.

What began as a simple workbook evolved into workshops and other creative tools designed to promote mental flexibility, resilience, and self-expression for all ages.

Our philosophy

The Flexible Brain

Our methods go beyond “positive thinking.” We encourage people to actively engage new thought patterns through unique activities and exercises that spark “aha” moments — so they can develop their own ideas and philosophies on a personal, profound level.

Building strong minds

Our goal is to engage healthy thinking patterns that build strong, flexible mindsets — so people can adapt and thrive in any situation.

Imagination as a learning tool

Used wisely and creatively, imagination can bring new inventions into existence, solve long-standing problems, and give us purpose.

Why our books are different

Most books tell you things. Ours ask you things — with open questions and partial illustrations that only you can complete. There are no wrong answers.
